Azzi Fudd Selected No. 1 in 2026 WNBA Draft

NEW YORK – UConn women's basketball alumna Azzi Fudd was selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the Dallas Wings in the 2026 WNBA Draft at The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City.
Fudd is the seventh No. 1 pick in UConn history, joining Sue Bird (2002), Diana Taurasi (2004), Tina Charles (2010), Maya Moore (2011), Breanna Stewart (2016) and Paige Bueckers (2025).
This is the third time UConn has had back-to-back No. 1 picks in the WNBA Draft.
Fudd is UConn's 51st WNBA college draft selection and 29th first round pick in program history.
Fudd earned 2026 All-America honors from the WBCA, AP and USBWA, leading UConn to its 25th NCAA Final Four. She was the 2026 BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection, BIG EAST All-Tournament Team selection and NCAA Fort Worth All-Region Team pick.
Fudd was named the 2025 NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player.
A native of Arlington, Va., Fudd finished her career in the UConn record book at No. 5 in career three pointers made (292), No. 7 in career three-point percentage (42.2%), No. 1 in career free throw percentage (92.5%) and No. 4 in single-season three pointers made (117, 2025-26). She ranks 21st in program history for career points with 1,687.
Fudd played her best collegiate basketball season in 2025-26. Starting all 39 games, she averaged a career-high 17.7 points per game on personal-best shooting percentages (.489/.455/.955). Fudd set single-season career highs in points (673), rebounds (100), assists (117), blocks (18) and steals (97).
Fudd graduated in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in communication. She will receive her master's in business administration in May 2026.
Fudd joins former UConn teammate Bueckers in Dallas. The duo led UConn to the 2025 NCAA Championship.
