Huskies Back in Action in Florida

STORRS, CT - The UConn men's golf team is right back in action after a strong showing their first event of the spring as they take part in the Watersound Invitational in Panama City, FL.
The Huskies will tee off at the three-round event on Monday, February 16 at The Third Course at Watersound Club, a par 71, 7,252-yard course. The tournament continues with the second round on Tuesday, February 17 and concludes on Wednesday, February 18.Â
This year's host is the Alabama Crimson Tide as the Huskies will also meet the likes of Arkansas, Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Navy, Ohio State, TCU, and Vanderbilt.
UConn is coming off a strong start to the spring slate after a third place at the Lake Jovita Invitational in Dade City, FL a week ago. Three Huskies finished in the top-20 at the event led by senior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT) who tied for third on the leaderboard, his best finish of the season.
Goode was under par all three rounds, posting his lowest round of the season (68) en route to his low tourney score on the year as well (208). Goode is joined in this week's lineup by junior Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT) and sophomore Caden Blanchette (Manchester, PA), who both posted top-20 finishes last week.
Sawka had his fourth top-20 of the season, taking 16th and finishing three-under for the tournament. Blanchette was tied for 20th at the event after posting his low tourney of the year at 214 (-2). It was his third top-20 finish this year.
Rounding out the UConn lineup is sophomores Kai-Jun Huang (Taipei, Taiwan) and Matt Costello (Taunton, MA).
