The UConn Huskies head back on the road to face the Temple Owls at Lincoln Financial Field Saturday afternoon on ESPNU.
Saturday's game is the 22nd all-time meeting between UConn and Temple. The Owls lead the all-time series 14-7 and are 4-2 against UConn at home in Lincoln Financial Field. The Huskies took the last meeting in 2024, 29-20 at home. This is UConn's only match-up this season against their former conference (AAC). The Huskies are 7-5 against teams from the American since leaving the league in 2021. Last season, UConn was 2-2 against the league and are 6-2 over the last two years.
The Huskies look to end a two-game slide and get back in the win column heading into their bye week. UConn is coming off a 42-41 loss at home to Syracuse last weekend. UConn twice trailed by 20 points in the game but battled all the way back to tie it 34-34 in the fourth quarter. A missed Syracuse field goal as time expired sent the game to overtime where the Huskies had the ball first. On the second play, quarterback Kalieb Osborne hit running back Trey Cornist for a 25-yard score to take the lead. The Orange converted on a fourth and goal from the 17 yard line as Umari Hatcher caught his third score of the day and quarterback Amari Odom dove in for the two-point conversion for the win.
Running back Cyncir Bowers had a career afternoon in the loss to Syracuse. Bowers ran the ball 16 times for 164 yards and two scores, including a 71-yard touchdown run, all new career-highs for the junior back. Husky QB Kalieb Osborne set new career-highs for yards (314), pass attempts (39) and touchdown throws (3) in the loss.
