No. 1 UConn to Host Villanova, Honor ’15, ’16 Teams Thursday

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (17-0, 8-0 BIG EAST) returns to Gampel Pavilion to host Villanova (17-3, 7-1) Thursday at 7 p.m. The game will air on FS1 and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
Before Thursday's game, UConn will celebrate the 10-year anniversaries of the program's 2015 and 2016 National Championships and induct the teams into the Huskies of Honor.
The ceremony will take place approximately 30 minutes before tipoff and will stream on the UConn women's basketball X and Facebook pages and the UConn Huskies YouTube page.
The Huskies lead the nation with 24.4 assists per game. UConn has dished out 20+ assists in its last 16 games. Junior KK Arnold ranks third nationally with a 4.63 assist-turnover ratio.
Sophomore Sarah Strong had 18 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and five steals to lead UConn to a 95-54 win at Creighton last Sunday. Freshman Blanca Quiñonez had 15 points and graduate student Azzi Fudd had 14. All 11 Huskies who played vs. the Bluejays scored.
Including BIG EAST Tournament games, the Huskies have won 55 straight league games.
UConn is 47-18 all-time vs. Villanova. The teams last faced off in the 2025 BIG EAST Tournament semifinal game. Sophomore Sarah Strong had 20 points and 16 rebounds in the game. UConn will travel to Villanova on Feb. 18.
Villanova moved to 7-1 in conference play with an 85-55 win over Providence. This season, Jasmine Bascoe leads the Wildcats with 17.4 points per game. Head coach Denise Dillon is in her sixth season at Villanova.
UConn will return to Gampel next Monday to host No. 23 Notre Dame (12-4) at 5 p.m. on FOX.
