No. 1 UConn Faces Creighton Sunday in Omaha

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (16-0, 7-0 BIG EAST) travels to Creighton (7-9, 3-4) Sunday at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT in the CHI Health Center Omaha. The game will air on truTV and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
Sophomore Sarah Strong had 24 points, five assists and six steals to lead UConn to an 88-43 win over St. John's on Wednesday. Graduate student Azzi Fudd scored 16 points and freshman Blanca Quiñonez had 14. Junior KK Arnold posted 11 points and six steals vs. the Red Storm.
Strong and Fudd were named to the 25-player midseason watch list for the Wooden Award on Wednesday.
UConn is 12-0 all-time vs. Creighton. The teams last faced off in the 2025 BIG EAST Championship game. Graduate student Azzi Fudd and sophomore Sarah Strong each had 13 points in the game. This is the second meeting between the teams in the CHI Health Center Omaha arena.
Creighton fell at Marquette, 67-49, on Thursday. This season, Neleigh Gessert leads the Bluejays with 12.3 points per game while Ava Zediker is averaging 12.1 per game. Head coach Jim Flanery is in his 24th season at Creighton.
Including BIG EAST Tournament games, the Huskies have won 54 straight league games.
UConn returns to Gampel Pavilion next Thursday to host Villanova at 7 p.m. Before the game, the Huskies will celebrate the 10-year anniversaries of the 2015 and 2016 NCAA Championships. Limited tickets remain here.
