Women's Hockey Announces Class of 2029

STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's hockey head coach Chris MacKenzie has announced the class of 2029 on Friday afternoon. The class is composed of three forwards, two defenders, and one goaltender.
"We are excited to welcome this freshman class to our program," said head coach Chris MacKenzie. "As a whole, the class has attributes we look for in players to fit our team culture. They are disciplined, hard to play against, and have a strong work ethic. Welcome to UConn class of 2029!"
Meet the Incoming Class
Peyton Anzivino (Binbrook, Ontario) – Forward
Peyton Anzivino comes to UConn from Binbrook, Ontario Canada where she attended Saltfleet District High School. She played club hockey for the Stoney Creek Jr. Sabres. She will be studying Exercise Science.
Taylor Belchetz (Oakville, Ontario) – Goaltender
Taylor Belchetz joins the Huskies from Oakville, Ontario Canada where she attended Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School. Belchetz played three seasons for the Mississauga Jr. Hurricanes. In 24 regular season games in 2024-25, she posted a 0.942 save percentage, and 1.41 goals against average. Belchetz was a Provincial Bronze Medalist in 2025 and was invited to the U-18 Team Canada Selection Camp in 2023.
Camryn Grimley (Eagleville, Pa.) – Defense
Camryn Grimley comes to UConn from Eagleville, Pennsylvania. She attended Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford, Pennsylvania. Grimley played for the Jr. Flyers Tier 1 in the 2024-25 season, serving as team captain, totaling 45 points in 44 games played. She is a four-time MAWA League Champion and four-time USA Atlantic District Champion. Grimley participated in USA Hockey Regional and National Camps and was a national medalist with USA Hockey.
Callie McLean (Ottawa, Ontario) – Forward
Callie McLean joins the Huskies from Ottawa, Ontario Canada. She went to John McCrae Second School in Ottawa. McLean played for the Ottawa Jr. Lady Senators. In 2025, she was a OWHA U-22 Elite Provincial Silver Medalist. In 2024, she led Team Ontario Blue Women's U-18 to a National Championship, serving as an assistant team captain. McLean was a two-time OWHA U-18 High Performance Development Camp invitee in 2023 and 2024. She will be studying Allied Health Science.
Leila Ricciuti (Manotick, Ontario) – Forward
Leila Ricciuti joins the Huskies from Manotick, Ontario Canada. She attended St. Mark's High School and was a three-time MVP. Ricciuti played for Nepean Jr in the OWHL for the past three years. She totaled 59 points in 64 games, serving as an assistant captain her senior season. Ricciuti is a two-time Provincials Champion. She played for Team Ontario Blue last fall and went to Nationals. She also medaled at OFSAA three times.
True Thompson (Sherwood Park, Alberta) – Defense
True Thompson arrives in Storrs from Sherwood Park, Alberta Canada. She attended New Hampton School in New Hampton, New Hampshire, playing for head coach Craig Churchill. Thompson led New Hampton to two Small School NEPSAC Championships. She was a two-time All-NEPSAC selection, two-time Lakes Region All-Star, and two-time All-State selection. As a defender, Thompson scored 19 goals and tallied 54 assists in two seasons for New Hampton. She was a two-time USA Hockey U-18 Selection Camp invitee.
