STORRS – The UConn men's basketball team has agreed to a home-and-home series with Kansas, set to begin on the road in the 2025-26 season. The Huskies and Jayhawks will square off in Lawrence on Dec. 2, 2025 with a return game in Connecticut on a date to be determined in 2026.
UConn's trip to the legendary Phog Allen Fieldhouse will be its second in three seasons after the Huskies visited on Dec. 1, 2023 as part of the BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle. Kansas took that top-five showdown by a score of 69-65, UConn's first non-conference loss in nearly two years and one of only three total losses in the 2023-24 national title campaign. The 2025 match-up will feature three of the last four national champions and two programs with a combined 10 NCAA titles.
UConn is 0-4 all-time against Kansas in a series dating back to a home-and-home played in Kansas City and Hartford in 1995 and 1997. The two sides met against in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, a 73-61 victory for the top-seed Jayhawks over No. 8 UConn, before their 2023 triumph in Lawrence.
The road game at KU in 2025 continues a trend of early-season true road games in the non-conference schedule under Dan Hurley. Last season UConn notched a 76-65 victory in Austin against Texas, and prior to the 2023 game in Lawrence the Huskies notched a true road win versus Florida in Gainesville in 2022.
UConn's 2025-26 non-conference schedule is shaking out to be one of the most daunting in America. In addition to the game at Kansas, the Huskies have announced games against BYU (Nov. 15 in Boston), Arizona (Nov. 19 in Connecticut), Florida (Dec. 9 at MSG) and Texas (Dec. 12 in Connecticut).
