Daniels & Minick Named NCBWA Second Team All-Americans

STORRS, Conn. - UConn baseball infielders Ryan Daniels and Tyler Minick have been named to the 2025 NCBWA All-America team, as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon.
Daniels and Minick are the 18th and 19th players under head coach Jim Penders to be recognized as All-Americans. The program now has 33 players that have earned All-American status.
Daniels finished his junior year as the BIG EAST Player of the Year. He led the Huskies with a .365 average, 75 RBI, a .744 slugging and .476 on-base percentage. The Meriden, Conn. native finished second on the team with 69 runs scored, 18 home runs and 40 walks. He added 15 doubles four triples and 10 stolen bases in 54 games.
Minick led the Huskies with 22 home runs on the season, ranking second most in a UConn single season. The corner infielder hit .355 with 11 doubles, two triples and 74 runs batted in. He added 64 runs scored, a .734 slugging percentage and 15 stolen bases. Minick was voted to the All-BIG EAST second team by the BIG EAST coaches.Â
The 40 combined home runs for Minick and Daniels is the second most ever for a UConn duo with Mike Olt (23) and George Springer (18) combined 41 home runs in 2010 leading the way.
This is the second time in program history that the Huskies have had a pair of position players earn All-American accolades in the same season. The last time was in 1959 with Moe Morhardt and Bill Stevens, a pair of UConn outfielders.Â
It the first since 2022 that the Huskies have had multiple All-Americans in the same season (Austin Peterson & Erik Stock).Â
