Huskies Add Kai-Jun Huang for 2025-26

STORRS, CT – UConn head men's golf coach Dave Pezzino announced the addition of transfer student-athlete Kai-Jun Huang to the Huskies roster for the 2025-26 season.
Huang comes to Storrs after spending his freshman season at Merrimack College this past year. Huang, a native of Taipei, Taiwan, will have three years of eligibility remaining.
"Kai Jun is a great addition to our program," stated Pezzino. "He's a strong student-athlete and plays an elite international schedule. I'm confident he'll be a great fit here in Storrs."
His freshman season included his first collegiate victory, tying for medalist honors at the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lafayette. Huang capped his season by placing fifth on the leaderboard among 65 golfers at the 2025 MAAC Championship.
Overall on the year, he posted six top-10 finishes, including four top-five's. He finished inside the top-20 in eight of the 10 tournaments Merrimack played in on the season. Over 24 total rounds, he had a 75.1 scoring average on the year.
In international play, Huang was a member of the 2024 Chinese Taipei National Team. He ranks 624th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. He has posted six wins and 21 top-10 finishes internationally.
