STORRS, Conn. – The UConn softball team defeated the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils, 6-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Burrill Family Field. The Huskies now move to 14-11 on the year, and have won their last ten games in a row.

Hallie Siems got her twelfth start of the season for the Huskies, earning her seventh win of the season. Siems was dominant over five scoreless innings, tallying a season high, ten strikeouts.

UConn capitalized early on Blue Devil errors scoring their first three runs off Blue Devil miscues. In the second inning Rayah Snyder scored the game's opening run off a wild pitch, scoring from third base. The Huskies extended their lead to three in the third inning off a throwing error by Central's third basemen, allowing Kaitlyn Kibling to score from third base and Grace Jenkins from second base.

UConn put the game out of reach in the fourth inning scoring three runs on two hits. The Huskies would load the bases for the top of the order as Lexi Hastings scored Haley Coupal from third base off a sacrifice fly. Grace Jenkins knocked in Savannah Ring and Kibling with her tenth double of the season, making it 6-0.

Delaney Nagy came on in relief for Siems in the sixth inning, making her fourth appearance of the season. She tossed a scoreless inning with a pair of strikeouts.

Meghan O'Neil closed out the Huskies tenth straight win, and fourth shutout of the season.
