STORRS, Conn. -Â Seven University of Connecticut athletics teams posted perfect Graduation Success Rates (GSR) and a total of 15 squads performed at 90 percent or higher, as announced by the NCAA on Thursday, December 2.
Teams that earned a GSR score of 100 percent included women's basketball, field hockey, women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, men's golf, and men's soccer.
The GSR data shows the percentage of student-athletes earning a degree within six years of entering college. The NCAA developed the GSR to account for student-athletes not tracked by the federal graduation rate, which includes transfers into UConn and student-athletes who transferred from UConn in good academic standing. 2021 GSR numbers are based on entering classes from 2011 to 2014.
"The academic and athletics achievement that our student-athletes attain continues to be a great source of pride for the division of athletics and the entire university community," director of athletics David Benedict said. "I want to thank them for their hard work and for continuing to make UConn Nation proud."
UConn had an overall GSR score of 92 percent, which matched last year's score, and eclipsed the 2019 mark of 90 percent and the 2018 GSR of 89 percent.
