Football Loses 44-13 Against Middle Tennessee

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. - The UConn football team dropped to 1-8 on the season after losing to Middle Tennessee State, 44-13, at Pratt and Whitney Stadium on Friday night.
The Huskies trailed 10-0 early in the second quarter but the team was able to respond with 12-play, 85-yard drive that culminated in a 8-yard touchdown pass from Steven Krajewski to Brandon Niemenski. It was the first career touchdown catch for the UConn tight end.
UConn was able to get the ball back and put together another drive that resulted in a game-tying field goal from Joe McFadden from 47 yards out.
The Blue Raiders answered with a pair of touchdowns before the Huskies closed the half with a McFadden made field goal from 21 yards out to make it a 24-13 deficit.
Middle Tennessee State outscored the Huskies 20-0 in the second half to pull away.
Ian Swenson led the way with 13 tackles on defense while Jackson Mitchell compiled 12 tackles.
Steven Krajewski finished the game with 21 completions for 237 yards and one touchdown pass.
Next up, the Huskies will have a couple weeks off before traveling to Clemson on Nov. 13.
