Huskies to Host USA in Exhibition Monday

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 3 UConn women's basketball team hosts the USA Women's National Team in an exhibition Monday at the XL Center. The game will tip at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 and the UConn IMG Sports Network (97-9 ESPN).
The current roster will face off against former UConn standouts Sue Bird, Tina Charles, Katie Lou Samuelson, Breanna Stewart and Diana Taurasi.
The Huskies will celebrate the 10-year anniversaries of the program's 2009 and 2010 NCAA Championships before the game. Confirmed attendees include Tahirah Williams (2009), Tiffany Hayes (2009, '10), Caroline Doty (2009, '10), Jacquie Fernandes (2009, '10), Renee Montgomery (2009), Heather Buck (2009, '10), Meghan Gardler (2009, '10), Maya Moore (2009, '10), Lorin Dixon (2009, '10), Tina Charles (2009, '10), Kelly Faris (2010), Kaili McLaren (2009, '10) and Cassie Kerns (2009), as well as Head Coach Geno Auriemma (2009, '10), Associate Head Coach Chris Dailey (2009, '10), Assistant Coach Jamelle Elliott (2009), Assistant Coach Shea Ralph (2009, '10) and Assistant Coach Marisa Moseley (2010).

UConn has had nine Olympians, including Bird, Charles, Stewart and Taurasi. Hall of Famer Geno Auriemma was Team USA's head coach from 2009-16.
The Huskies are coming off a 98-42 win over ECU Saturday. Sophomore Christyn Williams scored a season-high 26 points while freshman Anna Makurat has a personal-best 24 on eight three pointers.
