No. 1 UConn Hosts Houston Saturday

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (12-1, 3-0 American) returns to conference action Saturday against Houston (8-8, 1-1). The teams will play in the XL Center at 1 p.m. on SNY/ESPN3 and the UConn IMG Sports Network (97-9 ESPN).
UConn is 8-0 all-time vs. Houston with all meetings coming as members of the American Athletic Conference.
The Huskies are coming off a 74-58 loss to No. 6 Baylor Thursday. Sophomore Christyn Williams led UConn with 21 points and nine rebounds in the game. Baylor ended UConn's streak of 98 straight home wins.
UConn is 105-0 all-time in American Athletic Conference games.
The Huskies will face former standouts Sue Bird, Tina Charles, Diana Taurasi and Breanna Stewart when UConn hosts the U.S. National Team in an exhibition on Monday, Jan. 27, in the XL Center. UConn will celebrate its 2009 and 2010 NCAA Champion teams, which include All-Americans Charles, Maya Moore and Renee Montgomery. Tickets for the exhibition are available HERE.
Four Huskies were named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 this week: senior Crystal Dangerfield, junior Megan Walker, sophomore Olivia Nelson-Ododa and sophomore Christyn Williams.
