MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The UConn women's soccer team (4-6-1, 0-3 American) lost to No. 9 Memphis (11-1, 3-0 American), 5-0, on Thursday night.
Alana Moore provided the first opportunity for the UConn offense with a booming shot from 25 yards out that sailed high.
In the 38th minute, the Huskies created a nice set piece opportunity on their second corner kick of the match. A short ground ball pass with a quick touch pass found Sophia Danyko-Kulchycky at the far edge of the box and the junior striker ripped her shot high.
Danyko-Kulchycky recorded three shots on goal in the second half while Zoe Steck provided a pair of shots for the UConn offense.
