STORRS, Conn. - For the first time in a month, the UConn softball team prepares to hit the road for a weekend series in American Athletic Conference play when it takes on Memphis at the Tigers Softball Complex, beginning on Friday afternoon.
The Huskies (16-28, 2-10 American) snapped a four-game skid on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over Central Connecticut State at Burrill Family Field, as they look to keep the momentum rolling against Memphis.
UConn holds a 6-5 all-time series lead against the Tigers, despite losing both series to Memphis over the past two seasons. Its last series win against the Tigers came in 2015 - the first season under head coach Jen McIntyre.

Sophomore infielder Carli Cutler added an RBI hit for the Huskies, while redshirt freshman outfielder Olivia Sappington extended her on-base streak to eight games - matching the longest such streak of any UConn player this season.
In league play this season, three players are hitting over .290 for UConn - including sophomore Chloe Kerns, who has recorded a team-best .462 batting average (6-for-13) in nine game appearances. Marcelino has a team-high eight doubles in conference games with a .314 average at the dish.
SCOUTING MEMPHIS
The Tigers (31-15, 6-6 American) split their midweek contests with Mississippi State and Murray State, while losing two of three games to UCF last weekend in Orlando, Fla. Memphis has lost five of its last seven games after a 16-5 start to the season - including a season-long nine game winning streak.
As a team, Memphis leads the AAC in batting average (.316), on-base percentage (.390), runs scored (245), hits (378), triples (18) and stolen bases (76). Four players are hitting over .300 for the Tigers, including senior Kyler Trosclair hitting a team-best .427.
BACK ON THE ROAD
The Huskies have played 10 of their last 11 games at home, with just a midweek trip to Boston College (Apr. 11) breaking up the homestand. UConn's last road conference series came against USF from March 23-25, as part of a 33-game stretch of road and neutral games to start the season.
