CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The UConn women's tennis team returned to the court on Sunday afternoon heading to Boston College for their first match since returning from their spring break trip. The Huskies saw their four-match win streak come to an end, falling 6-1 to the Eagles.
"This was a tough match up with BC today," commented head coach Glenn Marshall. "They have been playing very well, with two recent wins against top-50 ranked teams in the country. We had some good results with them at the Fall Invite at Harvard, but they were much stronger today indoors."
The Huskies picked-up their only point in singles play where senior Zaina Zaki (West Chester, Pa.) beat Loren Haukova at the No. 5 spot , 7-6 (4), 6-4. It was Zaki's fourth-straight win as she nabbed her 11th victory on the season.
"Zaina Zaki had a great win in singles today, playing two consistent sets for the win at number five. Playing against a team of this level, will make us stronger for our upcoming Conference matches."
UConn will finish out the regular season with four-straight home matches on their Storrs campus courts, three against American Athletic Conference opponents. The Huskies return to action on Friday, April 6 against Memphis.
