KUALA LAMPUR, Malaysia - UConn men's track and field rising junior Trenten Beram (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) won the 200-meter dash on Wednesday in 20.84 seconds at the 29th Southeast Asia Games. The games are a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia.

Earlier in the summer, Beram finished fifth in the 200-meter run at the Asian Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar, India. His time in that final was 20.96 seconds and in the process broke his own national record for the Philippines, which he then broke on Wednesday.
