The Huskies are coming off a solid performance among a large field of top-competition at the Pepsi Florida Relays. Sophomore Christopher Heydrick had another great performance in the 1500m. After recording a new personal best at the Penn Challenge, Heydrick was just seventh hundredths of a second off that mark last weekend in Florida (3:54.36).
Connecticut's relay teams each grabbed top-marks for the season. The Huskies' distance medley team (Chavez, Amonu, Timmerman and Trocki) placed fourth with a team-best time of 10:07.95. The 4x800m crew (Garmon, Heydrick, Barber and Chavez) finished eighth with another season-best mark for the Huskies (7:36.70).
The Huskies will look to continue their successes across the board at Miami this weekend. Check back in with uconnhuskies.com on Saturday night for a full recap from the Hurricane Alumni Invitational.
