No. 1 Field Hockey Clinches BIG EAST Regular Season Title

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 1 UConn field hockey team (15-0, 6-0 BIG EAST) was crowned the BIG EAST Regular Season Champions for the 17th time in program history, after blanking Georgetown 10-0 on Saturday at the Sherman Family Complex.
With the win, the Huskies have clinched the BIG EAST regular title for the fifth straight year, dating back to the 2013 national championship season, and will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship, being held Nov. 3-5 in Providence, R.I. UConn will play the No. 4 seed in the semifinals on Nov. 3 at 1:00 p.m., as the program begins its quest for an unparalleled sixth-straight tournament championship.

The program is currently boasting a 24-game regular season conference win streak, which includes a 6-0 clip in 2017. UConn's prolific offense is outscoring BIG EAST opponents 37-1 and now holds the record for points (113), goals (37) and assists (39) in regular season conference play.
UConn will finalized its conference slate with a contest on Friday, Oct. 27 at Quinnipiac. The tilt is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
