LYNCHBURG, Va. - The No. 1 UConn field hockey team bumped its BIG EAST regular season win streak to 22 games following a 3-0 decision at Liberty on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies improve to 14-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play, while the Flames drop to 5-8 overall and 3-2 in the BIG EAST.

Six different players recorded points for UConn who is outscoring its opponents 69-9 so far this season.

Goalkeeper Nina Klein posted three saves in the tilt on her way to her eighth blank sheet in 2017. Klein is now locked with alum Sarah Mansfield for the top spot on UConn's career shutout list with 33.

Senior Charlotte Veitner broke open the scoring with her conference- and team-high 20th goal at 26:48. Junior Amanda Collins added an assist to the stat sheet after connecting with Veitner for the 1-0 advantage. The Huskies would carry their one-goal lead into the half, after outshooting Liberty 10-5.

UConn would notch its final two scores in the second half, as the team recorded its fifth-straight multi-goal game. Through 14 games this fall, the Huskies have been held to a single goal just once this season.

With a goal in the 50th minute, freshman Margot van Hecking Colenbrander doubled the team's score, 2-0, off a penalty corner for her 13th tally this fall. Classmate Jessica Dembrowski later added to the fun with a score at 59:17 for her fifth tally in four games.

UConn returns home next weekend against Georgetown on Saturday, Oct. 21 for BIG EAST action. The tilt is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.
