Three Huskies Headed to USATF Junior Championships

CLOVIS, Calif. - After concluding the outdoor season in late May, three UConn men's track and field standouts, PJ Garmon, Malik Snead, and Chris Heydrick, are set to compete at the 2016 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships on June 24-26 at Veteran's Memorial Stadium.
All athletes in the competition must be 19 years-old or younger. The top two finishers in each event will advance to represent the United States at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Garmon will open competition at the three-day event on Friday, June 24th when he competes in the 800m at 6:20 p.m. Next up, Heydrick will represent the program in the 1,500m run scheduled for 7:10 p.m. before Snead rounds out action on Saturday with the triple jump at 7:10 p.m.
Garmon's season-best 1:51.75 second 800m time came on April 23 at the Larry Ellis Invitational, Snead grabbed a sixth-place finish at The American Championship with a career-best 15.12m leap in the triple jump.
