UConn Head Coach Kevin Ollie
Opening Statement:
"I am real proud of the guys that they came back and fought after a tough loss to Temple. It was a short turn around and I am glad that we got a substantial lead going into the half because Bird got hot. We stood up to their run, we know they are a good team and knew they were going to make a run, but I am very proud of our guys."
On Caron Butler's return:
"It means the world to him, but it means the world to us. He is part of our family. He is just what a UConn player is supposed to be."
On Tulsa's comeback:
"The thing that we can control is our attitude and how we respond. I can't control Temple coming back, I just can't control all that stuff, but it's about staying together and I thought our guys stayed together tremendously."
UConn Forward Daniel Hamilton
On Tulsa's comeback:
"When we got our foot on somebody we have to continue to keep punishing them. I think that we let the foot off the gas today."
On needing win after loss to Temple:
"We definitely needed this win real bad, you know, Thursday was tough. We just wanted to come out and get a win."
UConn Guard Omar Calhoun
On hitting first four three point shots:
"I felt good before the game started. I've been in the gym working. I've been getting a lot of extra time in the gym so I feel real comfortable on the floor."
On Rodney Purvis hitting the game winner:
"Once he scored that basket we realized we had the game under control. We needed that basket and a stop."
