HAMDEN, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team will compete in the 13th annual Nutmeg Classic, beginning on Friday, Nov. 25 when the Huskies take on Yale in the first round of the tournament at High Point Solutions Arena. Pending the results of Friday's match-ups, UConn will face either Merrimack or Quinnipiac on Saturday, Nov. 26.
UConn is currently on a five-game unbeaten streak with four consecutive wins, three against WHEA opponents, followed by a tie. In their most recent contest at Vermont, the Huskies came back to tie the game 1-1 after trailing the Catamounts 1-0 in the first period.
UCONN LEADERS
1. Theresa Knutson - 16 points (7g, 9a)

3. Briana Colangelo - 13 points (4g, 9a)
Junior Justine Fredette (Winnipeg, Manitoba) scored UConn's only goal against Vermont, her second of the season, bringing her to four total points so far this year. The Huskies and the Catamounts played over 52 minutes of scoreless play to end in a tie, with both goals coming in the first period.
Junior net-minder Annie Belanger (Sherbrooke, Quebec) started in both games last weekend, seeing all 120 minutes in net and finishing with 48 combined saves.

Yale is riding a four-game losing streak, after dropping decisions to four separate ECAC opponents, including Colgate, Cornell, St. Lawrence and Clarkson. After starting off their season 2-0, the Bulldogs are 4-5-1 overall and 2-5-1 in conference games with conference wins coming against RPI and Union.

Quinnipiac is unbeaten in its last four games with three ECAC victories over Dartmouth, Harvard and Colgate and a 3-3 tie at home against Cornell. Most recently, Quinnipiac scored two goals in the third period to break a 1-1 tie with Colgate and earn a 3-1 victory over the Raiders. Sophomore Kenzie Lancaster scored two of QU's three goals, including the game-winner.

Merrimack is battling a seven-game losing skid, spanning back to the end of October. The Warriors have not won a game since they defeated Northeastern 3-2 on the road on October 28.
