Women's XC Set for 2016 New England Championships

BOSTON - Fresh off a stint at the Paul Short Run, the UConn women's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 8 when it travels to Boston, Mass. to participate in the 2016 New England Championships at historic Franklin Park.
The Huskies were last in action on Oct. 1, taking 29th in the 2016 Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. UConn finished the 6K women's gold race with 846 team points, taking 29 thout of 45 teams with an average time of 21:58. Yale was the meet's top finisher, securing a win with 92 total points and a 20:30 average team finish.
Connecticut competed in the annual event a season ago, securing a 16th-place finish among the 39-team field.
Sophomore Liz Lagoywas the Huskies' top finisher in the 5K race, crossing the finish line in 18:46 en route to a 59 th -place finish overall. Teammate Maggie Christe checked in in 63 rdwith an 18:48 mark, while freshman Erica Randazzo clocked in at 19:01 on her way to an 86 th -place finish.
