D'Ambrosio Named Connecticut Sportscaster Of The Year

SALISBURY, N.C. - Joe D'Ambrosio, the voice of UConn men's basketball and football on the UConn IMG Sports Radio Network, was honored this past weekend as the Connecticut Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
The honor came at the group's annual award weekend, which was held in Salisbury, N.C. This year's honor marks the eighth time that D'Ambrosio has won the award.
D'Ambrosio will be calling UConn football and men's basketball for the 24th-straight year in 2015-16. He also called UConn women's basketball games from 1995 thru 1998 and again from 2000 thru 2006. D'Ambrosio has also called UConn baseball games on WTIC platforms.
D'Ambrosio is a longtime voice of sports at WTIC NewsTalk 1080 and is currently the co-host of "Joe D And Gresh" -- a daily four-hour drive time all-sports show.
He also is an anchor at NBC Connecticut and has done play-by-play announcing for the New Britain Rock Cats minor league baseball team of the Eastern League.
