UConn Head Coach Kevin Ollie
"It was a great game by us. We played very, very hard, offensively and defensively."
On the play of sophomore forward Kentan Facey on Sunday
"I really appreciated Kentan's effort, and it was good to see him have his first double-double."
On ball movement he saw out of Connecticut
"The basketball moved again, especially in the second half with 11 assists and just three turnovers."
On UConn's defense
"Our defense was stellar. It started off slow, but in the last 10 minutes of the first half they had one field goal, and then we came out in the first seven minutes of the second half and didn't allow them to score. So in the span of 17 minutes we held them to one field goal. That's tremendous defense, and I thought that got us going. I thought it stepped up big time, especially in the second half. That was probably the best I've seen our pressure."
On his team's shooting
"We didn't shoot the ball particularly well. But we're getting back to shooting free throws well the last two games - 27 for 30 on the free throw line."
Junior guard Omar Calhoun
"I'm starting to get my rhythm back. I'm starting to get healthy. I'm able to be more explosive at the rim, do more off the dribble."
On bouncing out of a long stretch of limited playing time and injuries
"It was definitely tough going through that and then another injury. It's good to have something going positive so I can go forward and keep growing from it."
On being patience during this tough time
"It was definitely tough, but I'm a strong individual. I talked to coach all the time and he said just work through it. He has my back. So as I keep working and getting healthier and healthier, it will be better every day."
Sophomore forward Kentan Facey
"I feel like for me personally I'm getting more comfortable and I think everyone else is getting more comfortable feeling their way around with the offense. I think we're starting to click as a team."
On improving this year
"I've improved my basketball IQ and how I see the game."
Senior guard Ryan Boatright
On what sparked the 2nd half run
"Coach got on us during one of the time outs, and I got on us during one of the huddles. We just picked it. I think it just took everybody a while to get into it but once we did, we kept it rolling."
On Omar Calhoun's game today
"Anytime you can get another teammate out there that can make shots it's going to help me and help the team. He is a great teammate. Seeing him happy again and healthy is a good feeling."
CCSU Head Coach Howie Dickenman
"When you go 17 minutes and you get one field goal, you know you're going to be in trouble. And that's what happened today. One bright light is that we defended the three-point line pretty good. As a rule, we haven't been a very good 3-point defending team.
We fought until the final buzzer. We didn't have a lot of answers today. Obviously, they played well. We made it a little bit easier for them, but they are a very, very good team.
I'll always be a Kevin Ollie fan and a UConn fan, second to Central Connecticut State University. I didn't think that we had a very good chance to win, certainly, but I do believe we gave it our best shot."
