Game Notes
- UConn fell to 163-100 (.619) in games broadcasted on ESPN/ESPN2 since 1986.
- The Huskies dropped to 5-3 all-time against Texas. Today's loss marked the first time that UConn lost at home to the Longhorns.
- UConn became the first team on the season to outrebound the Longhorns, ending the game with a 36-35 advantage on the boards. Texas entered the afternoon posting double-digit rebound margins in four of its first five contests.
- Texas capitalized on the fast break, outscoring UConn 21 - 8 in the contest on its way to victory. Senior Jonathan Holmes led the Longhorns with 13 points.
- The Longhorns have now hit at least one 3-pointer in 797 consecutive games. Texas went 7 for 20 from the three-point arc in this afternoon's contest with the game-winner coming with 2.2 seconds remaining.
- Texas entered the contest averaging 78.8 points per game; they were held to 55. The lowest total point on the season for the Longhorns entering this afternoon was 71.
