SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Connecticut earned a 5-2 victory over No. 19 San Diego to close out a successful spring break trip. UConn previously defeated NAIA power Point Loma Nazarene, 4-3.

Against Point Loma Nazarene, the Huskies swept doubles play for the crucial point while splitting singles action 3-3. In singles play, UConn's top three players earned points towards the team match.

No. 1 Jennifer Learmonth, No. 2 Alexa Gregory and No. 3 Maxene Weinberg all took their matches in straight sets. Learmonth and Weinberg combined at No. 1 doubles for an 8-4 victory. Lucy Nutting and Gregory also won, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles while Marie Gargiulo and Abby McKeon claimed No. 3 doubles, 9-7.

Against No. 19 UCSD, the Huskies Alexa Gregory and Maxene Weinberg won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, as did Abby McKeon and Lauren Wilmarth at No. 5 and No. 6. UConn once again took the doubles point with Learmonth and Weinberg winning 8-6 at No. 1 and Nutting and Gregory taking No. 2, 8-6.
