Men's Basketball Takes On UMES On Monday

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's basketball team returns to action on Monday when it takes on Maryland Eastern Shore in the XL Center at 7:00 p.m. The game will be televised by SNY and heard on the UConn IMG Sports Radio Network.

UConn (7-2) is coming off a 10-day break for final exams, following a 57-49 victory over Harvard on Dec. 7 at Gampel Pavilion.

The Huskies are led by the guard tandem of junior Shabazz Napier (17.2 ppg) and sophomore Ryan Boatright (14.4 ppg, 4.6 apg). Sophomore forward DeAndre Daniels, coming off a creer-high 23 points vs. Harvard, is averaging 9.8 ppg.

Maryland Eastern Shore (0-9) last played on Dec. 8, bowing at Cincinnati, 92-60. The Hawks are led by sophomore guard Kyree Jones, averaging 16.6 points per game.

UMES is a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and is 0-1 in league play so far.
