STORRS, Conn. - Over the past 10 years the University of Connecticut men's track and field team has made an impact on the conference and regional stages, collecting eight BIG EAST titles, nine New England titles and two IC4A titles. During the 2011 indoor and outdoor seasons, the Huskies have been a perfect 4-for-4 so far, claiming both BIG EAST crowns and winning the New England and IC4A Indoor Championships. This weekend, Greg Roy's squad will try for two more as they compete at the New England Outdoor and IC4A Outdoor Championships.
During BIG EAST Championships, the Huskies have garnered 55 individual titles and five relay titles over the past 10 years, including six during the indoor and outdoor meets this season. This year's conference champs were: Aaron King (Indoor Heptathlon, Outdoor Decathlon), Mike Rutt (Indoor 800m), Cody Unger (Javelin), Tyrone Faverey (Outdoor Triple Jump) and the 4x100 Relay Team of Kashif Moore, Kevin Smith, Darnell Cummings and Jesse Drinks.
Seven Huskies have also been named either the BIG EAST Outstanding Track Performer or the Outstanding Field Performer during that span, including current UConn student-athletes Aaron King (2011 Outdoor and Indoor Field) and Mike Rutt (2009 Indoor Track).

Over the last 10 years, UConn has claimed 58 individual titles and eight relay titles at the New England Championships, with five coming during the 2011 indoor meet. Those champions include: Aaron King (Heptathlon), Mike Alleman (Shot Put), Noel James (High Jump), Kyle Duggan (Pole Vault) and Mike Rutt (800m).

In limited action at the IC4A Championships, the Huskies have earned 13 individual titles and two relay titles, with two coming during the 2011 Indoor meet from Aaron King (Heptathlon) and Mike Rutt (1,000m).
