STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut 4x100 relay team qualified for the IC4A Final tomorrow, as the Huskies competed at the 117th Penn Relays today. Seven Huskies have participated so far, recording three top-15 finishes in individual events.
"We didn't have many guys competing today, but we had some strong performances from those that did," head coach Greg Roy said. "Scott had a great race in the steeplechase last night, and then Eric had some good throws for us in the shot put. Our big race, the 4x800, will come tomorrow, so hopefully we can continue the dominating performances throughout the day tomorrow."
Scott Johnson started things for the Huskies on Thursday evening as he placed third in the 3,000m Steeplechase College event. Johnson ran a 9:04.80, a personal-best and one of the top-10 times in the BIG EAST so far this year.
