Danielle Del Ponte Named Head Coach At Daniel Webster College

STORRS, Conn. - Former UConn softball player Danielle Del Ponte was named as the head softball coach at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, N.H as announced by the DWC Director of Athletics Robin Seidman.
"Danielle brings a lot to the table. Her knowledge of the game, dedication and strong work ethic will serve her well in her future coaching career," stated Head Coach Karen Mullins.
Del Ponte was a key member of the Huskies in her four years at UConn graduating in 2009 after leading the squad in RBI and home runs her junior and senior campaigns. The four-year Husky catcher is currently fourth in all-time RBI (106), fourth in all-time home runs (20) and seventh in career putouts (858).
Prior to accepting her first head coach position, Del Ponte served as an assistant at Springfield and Boston College where she assisted both programs to successful season's including a NEWMAC tournament championship at Springfield and a spot in 2011 ACC tournament for the Eagles.
Del Ponte inherits an Eagle program that posted a 7-18 overall mark in 2011 and reached the post-season for a program record third consecutive season.
