STORRS, Conn. (October 29, 2011) - The University of Connecticut field hockey game set for Sunday, Oct. 30, at Princeton was cancelled due to inclement weather. The matchup between the Huskies and the Tigers was cancelled after Princeton was forced to postpone its Saturday game against conference foe Cornell and reschedule for Sunday due to snow.
Sunday's game was to be the Huskies final regular season game after defeating Rutgers on the road on Friday, Oct. 28, where they captured sole possession of the regular season BIG EAST title with a 5-0 victory. UConn had already defeated Princeton, 3-1, at home on October 16.
With the regular season coming to an end due to the cancellation, the Huskies will play in the BIG EAST Tournament next weekend in Syracuse, N.Y. on Friday and Sunday. The No. 1 Huskies take on No. 4 Louisville on Friday, Nov. 4, at 12:30 p.m.
