Smith Named To the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

STORRS, Conn. - Sean Smith has been named to the First Team University Division CoSIDA Academic All-District Track and Field team. This is the first CoSIDA honor for the senior, who has been a BIG EAST Academic All-Star since he started at the university.
Smith will participate in the NCAA Championship for the first time in his career after finishing the regular season ranked 21st in the nation. Earlier this season, Smith earned his second-straight BIG EAST Decathlon title finished with a career best 7,370 points.
Smith is a three-time captain for the Huskies. He was the captain of both the indoor and outdoor squad in 2009 and captain of the outdoor team this past season.
