Vaccari and Buchanan Earn All-BIG EAST Golf Honors

Providence, R.I. - University of Connecticut sophomore golfers Jeb Buchanan and Adam Vaccari have each been selected to the 2010 All-BIG EAST Conference Men's Golf team, as voted by the league coaches.
Buchanan finished the year with a team-low stroke average of 74.08 and earned four top ten finishes in 2009-10. He was the individual medalist at the Adams Cup of Newport in September and was named the Golfweek Magazine National Player of the Week. Vaccari finished the year with a stroke average of 75.0 and finished in a tie for first at the New England Division I Championship in April and then tied for 5th, one shot out of a playoff, at the BIG EAST Championship in April.
Louisville's Riley Wheeldon, a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST Team, was named the Men's BIG EAST Player of the Year. Wheeldon sported an impressive 73.45 stroke average and led the Cardinals at the BIG EAST Championship, finishing in a tie for eighth.
Freshman of the Year honors went to Seton Hall's Brandon Park. The rookie tied with Wheeldon for eighth at the conference championship and help the Pirates to a fourth place finish overall. Park stood out amongst the freshman class with a 74.13 scoring average.
