Huskies Drop 4-2 Decision To Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. - After getting on the board first for the third-straight game, the University of Connecticut men's hockey team allowed three-straight goals in a 4-2 loss to Bentley in the second half of a home-and-home series with the Falcons at the Ryan Skating Rink.
With the loss, the Huskies fall to 5-24-3 overall and 5-18-3 in Atlantic Hockey play while Bentley earns their 12th victory of the year improving to 10-14-2 in conference play.
Daniel Naurato (Livonia, Mich.) got the Huskies on the board first when he tallied his fourth goal of the season with some help from Sean Ambrosie (Moorhead, Minn.) at 9:53 in the opening period of play.
Before the end of the period, however, Bentley tied the game up at one-all when Dan Koudys notched the first of three-straight goals for the Falcons at 17:39. In the second, Brendan Harrison tabbed a goal at 7:10 and less than a minute later, Anders Olson recorded the Falcons' third goal of the night to extend their lead to two.
The Huskies fought back in the third as Justin Hernandez (Farmington Hills, Mich.) earned his sixth goal of the year and his third point of weekend. Hernandez was aided by Alex Gerke (Tomah, Wisc.) who recorded his sixth assist of the year and helped cut into the Bentley lead, narrowing it down to one.
Bentley fired back at 15:27 in the third extending their lead to two as Joe Campanelli earned his first goal of the game.
After splitting the weekend series with Bentley, the Huskies will finish out their regular season with a weekend series at home against Mercyhurst next Friday and Saturday February 26 and 27.
