UConn's Adam Vaccari Wins NEIGA Title

Brewster, Mass. (October 19, 2010)-University of Connecticut junior Adam Vaccari shot a four-under par 68 Tuesday and then captured an individual playoff on the second hole to earn medalist honors in the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship at the Captains Course.
The University of Rhode Island captured the team title by only one stroke over UConn, totaling 585 to the Husky total of 586. Central Connecticut captured third.
Vaccari defeated Kevin Josephson of CCSU on the second playoff hole to capture the individual championship. Vaccari's 68 allowed him to come from five shots off the pace after day one. UConn junior Jeb Buchanan also shot a 68 and finished in a tie for 5th place in the event.
The NEIGA Championship concludes the fall season for the Huskies.
