Waruch Top Collegiate Finisher At Harvard Multi Meet

STORRS, Conn. - In their first heptathlon of the season, the University of Connecticut men's track and field team saw three of its four competitors in the top-eight as the university finished with seven points overall.
The top-finisher for the Huskies was Jake Waruch (Kerhonkson, N.Y.) who was also the top collegiate finisher in the two-day competiton. Waruch finished with 4,887 points on the day, a new personal record and right behind the reigning Olympic gold medalist Bryan Clay who was fourth on the day. Coming in second for the Huskies was rookie Sam Smith (Slingerlands, N.Y.) who finished seventh overall with 4,646 points.
Waruch's twin brother Ben Waruch (Kerhonkson, N.Y.) rounded out the pointgetters for the Huskies finishing with 4,617 points. Coming in behind him was the final Husky competitor Kyle Rowbotham (Scotch Plains, N.J.) who finished the two-day competition with 4,455 points.
