Men's Track Places Third At New England Championship

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Connecticut men's track and field team finished competition at the New England Championship Saturday with a third place finish. The limited Husky team tallied 61 points during the two day competition.
The top finisher for the Huskies was senior Ellis Gaulden (Tallahassee, Fla.) who finished first in both the high jump and the long jump. Gaulden took the high jump with a height of 2.00m (6-6.75) finishing the long jump with a distance of 7.38m (24-2.5).
Also finishing in first for the Huskies was sophomore Kyle Duggan (Staten Island, N.Y.) in the pole vault and sophomore Kyle Edmonds (Metuchen, N.J.) in the 110m hurdles. Duggan finished with a height of 4.80m (15-9) while Edmonds finished with a time of 14.51 in the hurdles.
Also finishing in the top five in their events for the Huskies were senior Andrew Dubs (Holland, Pa.) in the discus ([46.92m (153-11)], senior Anthony Pomo (Saddle Brook, N.J.) in the 100m dash (10.86), sophomore Dan Holst (Smithtown, N.Y.) in the 800m run (1:51.52), and freshman Chris Tomori (Chesterfield, N.J.) in the 400m hurdles (54.62).
Some of the Huskies will be back in action next weekend at the IC4A Championships in Princeton, N.J. from May 15-17.
