Truax Named To NFCA All-Mideast Team

STORRS, Conn. - For the first time in her impressive UConn career, Micah Truax (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) was named to the NFCA All-Mideast First Team after yet another outstanding season. The senior outfielder made an NFCA All-Region team for the third time, garnering All-New England Second Team honors during her sophomore and junior season.
Truax, a two-time Easton All-American, finished the season with a .327 batting average while appearing and starting in all 51 games in 2009. She led the team in five batting categories including home runs (9), sacrifice bunts (8) and stolen bases (11).
Her performance during BIG EAST play included a team-leading .333 batting average, 24 hits, and 14 runs scored which helped the Huskies to their third-straight BIG EAST Championship. Truax was also impressive against ranked opponents this season. In eight games, she compiled a .320 batting average knocking out a team-leading eight hits while walking three times and scoring three runs.
Truax has already received a postseason award this year earning All-BIG EAST honors for the third straight year. Truax was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
