Connecticut Jumps into USA Today/USA Hockey Poll

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team received eight votes to reach the top-10 nationally-ranked programs in the country as of Tuesday. This is the first time this season the Huskies have been in the national rankings with the 10th spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll.
No. 10 Connecticut (8-5-4, 2-3-3-1)faces off against fellow nationally ranked program, No. 6/7 Harvard on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Bright Hockey Center in Cambridge, Mass. The Crimson are sixth in the USCHO.com poll in which the Huskies received three votes to fall just outside of the top-10.
Harvard (7-3-2, 6-3-0) is the second-consecutive nationally-ranked opponent for the Huskies this season after a 1-0-1 showing against then-No. 10 Boston University last weekend. Overall, UConn is 2-3-1 against nationally-ranked opponents while unranked this season. The Huskies were the top-10 for eight weeks a season ago, including two weeks at No. 8 in the USCHO.com poll and were last ranked on Feb. 16, 2009.
