Huskies Drop Saturday Night Game At Mercyhurst 3-1

ERIE, Pa. - In their final game of the fall season, the University of Connecticut men's hockey team dropped their fifth-straight game on the road at the Mercyhurst Ice Center in front of 746 people. Junior assistant captain Andrew Olson (Alexandria, Minn.) recorded UConn's lone goal of the night and the weekend.
The Huskies drop to 2-12-2 on the season and 2-8-2 in Atlantic Hockey play while Mercyhurst improves to 8-9-1 on the year and 8-5-1 in AHA action.
Mercyhurst used a goal at 13:14 in the first period by Kevin Noble to take the 1-0 lead before the end of the opening period. They added to their lead in the second notching two more goals from Jeff Terminesi and Scott Pitt earning a 3-0 advantage after the end of two.
Two of Mercyhurst's three goals came on the power play including the game winner by Terminesi.
The Huskies were the only team to score in the third when Olson notched his fifth goal of the year at 9:40 on a power play opportunity. The goal was Olson's team-leading third power play goal of the year.
Brad McInnis played a complete game in goal for the first time this season making a season-high 38 saves in the game. On the other side of things Ryan Zapolski notched 29 saves for the Lakers.
The Huskies take a few weeks off for finals and will return to action on December 29 in the first game of the Toyota UConn Classic when they faceoff against Bentley at 7:15 p.m.
