Head Coach Jim Calhoun
"The stat sheet starts to look a little more normal for us, at least."
"I'm relatively happy with some individual performances and collectively some defensive performances."
"We certainly could have had some more blocked shots. I didn't the way a couple of our big guys didn't finish inside."
"Gavin was terrific. Obviously, Jerome was sensational. Stanley had a good second half."
"Kemba played well....Kemba clearly could have 15, 16 assists if some of our big guys hadn't dropped the ball."
"Besides Gavin, we have to get a couple of the guys to finish inside."
"When Donnell Beverly comes in, and the team is running well, Donnell just fits in perfectly and makes us do all the right things."
"I like some of the things that we did. We ran after loose balls. We rebounded well."
"I think we overmatched them tonight, and I think we worked to do that."
"It's pretty tough to complain when a team that hasn't been rebounding gets 54 rebounds. That's a first step, and we made a first step tonight on a team that we were physically better than. We've played a few teams that we were physically better than, and we didn't get a lot of rebounds. So, I'm happy with that."
"We let up a little bit at the end. We're going to have to stay with it every game because we're going to get in games where the ball doesn't necessarily go in the hole that much."
"We did a great job locking them up."
Jerome Dyson
What happened on the injury?
"I was going by him and I slipped and sort of did a split. It hurt a lot, but it settled down once I got to the bench."
Did you feel a little better about the game tonight overall?
"Other than the beginning of the game - we didn't feel like we pushed the ball the way we should have, but once we got into it, it took off from there. At the end of the game we were running the way we should have."
On rebounding
"It has to be a team effort. It's always a team effort...It comes on the guards when we play these small teams that shoot a lot of threes there are going to be a lot of rebounds. Us guards are going to have to get those loose ball rebounds and those long ones."
Gavin Edwards On Jerome Dyson returning after groin injury
"He never surprises me. He gets hurt, and he keeps coming back."
On size advantage over BU
"We set a lot of low screens. We capitalized on our size advantage. We can get rebounds. We should get rebounds."
Boston University Head Coach Patrick Chambers
"They're a very good team. Obviously, I know UConn very well, been going against them for six years now. They're very talented and they're very big and they're very strong and they're very tough."
"They got to the line 35 times on just driving the ball hard and being tough. And that's what it's about."
"It's a great learning lesson for my team, to play a program of UConn's caliber."
"They're going to do some good things in the BIG EAST."
"Kemba Walker really puts pressure on the defense."
"They wear you down. That's what they did tonight. I thought we came out with great energy. We played hard the first 15 minutes, and then they went on a great spurt. And that's what we were trying to prevent."
"You try to go inside, and they're just so long."
"For the most part, I'm proud of the guys who played. They played as hard as they could. Yeah, they took some ill-advised shots here and there, but sometimes you have to give them freedom when they're going to play so hard and trying to play to the best of their abilities."
