STORRS, Conn. (April 18, 2008) - The University of Connecticut men's track and field team hosts the Husky Spring Invite on Saturday. This is the second meet UConn has hosted at the Sherman Family Sports Complex this season. Field events will begin at 10:00 a.m. and track events will begin at 11:00 a.m. The event is free of charge for all fans.
The meet is a scored meet and will feature Connecticut facing off against BIG EAST rival Providence, as well as local rivals, Quinnipiac, Brown, Rhode Island and Boston University.
"This is the first time we will have had our whole team competing in one place during the outdoor season," said head coach Greg Roy. "Almost everyone will be competing in the event they will compete in at the BIG EAST Championship in two weeks, but some of our track athletes who have already qualified for the BIG EAST as well as the NCAA Regionals will compete in longer events to help build up their endurance and strength."
