Huskies to Face Badgers in 2008 Paradise Jam Title Game

ST. THOMAS, U.S.V.I. (November 24, 2008)-- The University of Connecticut men's basketball team will take on the Badgers of the University of Wisconsin Monday night in the championship game of the 2008 Paradise Jam at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center.
UConn and Wisconsin will meet at 8:30 p.m. eastern time and the game will be televised nationally on (click on the link for a pdf showing the exact channel in your area). The game will also be broadcast on the UConn Radio Network and streamed at .
The teams have never met in the sport of men's basketball. UConn is ranked No. 2 in the most recent Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Top 25 rankings, as of November 17. Wisconsin is No. 25 in the AP Poll and No. 22 in the ESPN/USA Today Poll.
UConn comes off a 76-63 win over No. 17 Miami in the semifinals, led by 19 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks by junior Hasheem Thabeet. The Huskies beat La Salle in the opening round behind 23 points from freshman Kemba Walker and 22 points and 14 boards from senior Jeff Adrien.
The Badgers beat San Diego in the semifinals after defeating Iona in overtime in the opening round.
