Schnur Named Women's Soccer Scholar All-American

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (December 24, 2007) - University of Connecticut women's soccer midfielder Meghan Schnur (Butler, Pa.) continues to be honored for her stellar senior season. This time she has been named to the Scholar All-America first team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). It is the second straight season that she has earned that honor.
Schnur has a 3.32 GPA, and will be graduating in May with a degree in physical therapy. This award goes with her previous awards earned this year for a season in which she led the team with five goals (four of which were game winning goals) and nine assists for 19 points on the year. She had already been named to the NSCAA/adidas All-America first team, the NEWISA All-New England first team, the NSCAA/adidas All-Northeast Region first team and the All-BIG EAST first team, as well as being named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year.
Connecticut concluded this season 14-6-2. They advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time since 2003. Their final NSCAA national ranking of ninth is also the highest since they finished second in 2003.
