Travalja Leads Golf to Fifth Place Finish at ECAC's

CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (October 14, 2007)-- University of Connecticut senior Brian Travalja (Oradell, N.J.) finished in a tie for third place overall to lead the Huskies to a fifth place team finish Sunday at the 2007 ECAC Division I Men's Golf Championship at Shelter Harbor G.C.
The Huskies shot a two-day team total of 606 to finish in fifth place. St. Bonaventure (596) captured the team title by two strokes over Sacred Heart. Binghamton (600) and Rhode Island (601) rounded out the top five team finishers.
Sean Curtin of Iona shot a two-over par 144 and took medalist honors by one stroke over Matt McClure of Central Connecticut. Travalja and four other players all tied for third place at four-over par 146.
UConn freshman Chris DeLucia (Norwich, Conn.) finished in a tie for 15th place overall at nine-over par 151.
