Golf Stands Third at ECAC's

CHARLESTON, R.I. (October 13, 2007)-- The University of Connecticut golf team stands in third place after one day of competition at the ECAC Division I Championship at Shelter Harbor G.C.
The Huskies shot a total of ten-over par 294 Saturday to trail Binghamton University (-1, 283) and St. Bonaventure (+9, 293). UConn is two shots better than Rhode Island and seven shots clear of Sacred Heart.
Senior Brian Travalja (Oradell, N.J.) led the Huskies on the day with an even-par 71. He is tied for sixth place. Freshman Chris DeLucia (Norwich, Conn.) is tied for eighth place after shooting a 72.
The tournament concludes Sunday.
