"First Night" To Feature Webcast

STORRS, Conn. (October 11, 2007) --- University of Connecticut men’s and women’s basketball fans from around the world will be able to get an early look at their teams as “First Night” will be webcast through “Huskies All-Access.”
“First Night” takes place on Friday, October 12, 2007 and is the official beginning of practice for both the UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. EDT and will last for approximately two hours.
“Huskies All-Access” is a new internet multimedia platform that UConn has launched in conjunction with College Sports Television, Inc. (CSTV). The subscription fee for “Huskies All-Access” is $9.95 per month and $79.95 for a 12-month subscription. Subscribers of “Husky All-Access” will be able to watch “First Night” live while the archive of the event will be free.

“Huskies All-Access” includes live and archived webcasts of numerous UConn Olympic sporting event. Also featured are the weekly and home game postgame press conferences of head football coach Randy Edsall and highlights and replays of UConn football games. In the winter season, there will be live and archived coverage of postgame men’s and women’s basketball press conferences. There will also be archived men’s basketball games and highlights.
In addition, “Huskies All-Access” will have a live webcast of three exhibition basketball games: Thur., Nov. 1, men vs. Assumption, 7:30 p.m.; Sun., Nov. 4, men vs. Bryant, 1:00 p.m.; and Tue., Nov. 6, women vs. Southern Connecticut, 7:00 p.m.
